Your RBT profile: what to include
What days can you work? How far can you travel? How many hours are you looking for? Your RBT Link profile helps Oala find opportunities that fit those answers.
Start with your weekly schedule
List the days and times you can regularly work. For example, “Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 2–6 p.m.” gives us more to work with than “afternoons.”
Then add how many hours you want each week. You might be available for 20 hours but only looking for 12. Leave enough time to get from one commitment to the next.
Think through the travel
Add your location and travel preferences. Think about the trip at the time you would actually make it—a drive that takes 20 minutes in the morning may take longer after school.
When you receive an opportunity, check the service area against the rest of your day before you accept.
Have your certification number handy
If you hold RBT certification, have your BACB certification number ready. Oala checks the BACB Certificant Registry and records the result in Oala Passport.
Your certification is verified only after that check is complete. The provider will also have its own onboarding steps before you begin work.
For certification questions, use the BACB website.
A few things to check before you finish
- Contact details: Make sure they are current.
- Work settings: Choose the settings you would consider.
- Start date: Allow time for current commitments and the provider's onboarding.
- Availability: Check that each time window works alongside your other commitments.
Keep client names and clinical notes out of your profile. Update your details when your schedule, location or certification changes.
When an opportunity comes through
Read the schedule, service area, proposed start date and expected duration. You can accept or decline based on whether the work fits.
Accepting tells the provider you want to proceed. The provider still chooses who to bring on, so acceptance does not guarantee an assignment or hours.
Before agreeing to a start date, ask the provider about pay, supervision, work expectations and any onboarding you need to finish. The provider handles your employment or engagement and clinical supervision.
